It’s so easy to be critical about the society and world these days as there is so little to cheer up. However, every now and then we come across stories that rejuvenates and makes us believe in mankind.
And this is one such story that will make you feel good. The story comes from Territorio de Zaguates Costa Rica, or ‘Land of the Strays’ a Costa Rican paradise that houses more than 900 stray and abandoned dogs.
It acts as a temporary home for these dogs until they find a new home and owners. The dogs are left in the care of the dedicated team who take care of them.
According to its mission statement: “Zaguates territory is a ‘no-kill shelter’, a dog sanctuary where we do not believe in euthanasia as a solution to the problem of abandoned dogs in Costa Rica. Our mission is to find a home for all dogs that are in our care.
“We are a temporary home for hundreds of dogs looking for a second chance, and we are also the permanent home of many others who may never find their own family.”
The best part is that the ‘Land od the Strays is open to the public and anybody interested to adopt can visit the place, or you can just hand around for a while and have fun with the dogs.
There’s also plenty of water stations and cosy bedding for the dogs to snuggle down on after a long day of being bloody adorable.
